Comment moderation and guest opinion policy

While StreetsblogMASS does not regularly publish opinion pieces, we do welcome pitches. Guest opinion pieces should reflect unique or underrepresented perspectives on transportation issues in Massachusetts.

Opinion pieces will only be accepted at the editor’s discretion, and we strongly recommend sending a short pitch to the editor (christian@streetsblog.org) before submitting a fully-written piece. To encourage a diverse range of perspectives, we may offer compensation to some guest opinion writers on a case-by-case basis.

Streetsblog also welcomes online community discussion and encourages you to sign up for a Disqus account and join the dialogue.

Streetsblog is a moderated forum. We work hard to maintain a high level of quality and collegiality in Streetsblog’s comments section. We may edit or delete ad hominem attacks, unnecessary or uncreative profanity, off-topic or commercial posts, lengthy or poorly written rants, conspiracy theories, misinformation, sock-puppeting, and comments that we feel don’t add any real value to the conversation that’s underway.
