New Year, No Fares: Beacon Hill Bankrolls Dozens of Free Bus Routes Statewide

A concept plan shows a grid of new streets – most of which are 4-5 lanes wide – overlaid on top of the vacant triangle of land between Cambridge Street and I-90 in Allston. Four new streets, labelled (from west to east) Seattle St. Connector, Stadium Way Connector, Cattle Drive Connector, and East Drive Connector – would run north-south from I-90 to Cambridge Street. Four other streets would run east-west, roughly parallel to I-90 and the Worcester Line train tracks: two streets are essentially frontage roads for I-90, the northerly (eastbound) which is labelled "Lincoln St. Connector". A block north is a street labelled "Cambridge St. South." And in the northeastern tip of the triangle, running only between Stadium Way Connector and Soldiers Field Road, is a street labelled "Hotel Way"

City of Northampton Seeks Bids to Reboot ValleyBike By April

Although the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail bridge over Route 2 is still officially closed for construction, people are making their way around the existing barricades and riding their bikes on it. The left photo shows the paved portion on the south side of Route 2, while the right photo shows the unfinished, gravel portion on the northside just a few feet away. Both photos were taken this past Saturday, June 25th.
